UP-Min holds citywide photo contest
by Chris Fabian
STUDENTS of the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP-Min) are holding a digital photo contest that is geared towards capturing student’s perception on the current status of education.
The event, LENTE: A Citywide Digital Photo Contest, is organized by the UP-Min’s College of Science and Mathematics-Student Council (CSM-SC) in partnership with the HIMATI: The Official Student Publication of the University of the Philippines Mindanao and in collaboration with the UP Mindanao Foundation Celebration.
With the theme “Education: Right or Privilege?", the event also commemorate the 100 years of existence of the University of the Philippines.
The contest is open to all UP and non-UP students in Davao City.
There is no registration fee and entries shall be submitted through email at: lentecontest@gmail.com on or before 7 pm of Feb. 25, 2008. Participating schools may send many entries as long as there is only one entry per student. Affix full name, year level, contact number, name of school and caption of their photo entry.
Any digital cameras are allowed as long as there are no extreme Photoshop tricks applied.
Invited professional photographers and the organizers deserve the right of screening the entries [which are expected to be noble and original] and will automatically invalidate those entries with such violations.
Three major winning entries will be chosen among the selected top 100. Cash prizes, certificates and plaques are up for grabs for the top three winning entries, plus the prestige of having their winning photos displayed in an exhibit and published.
