Back By Midnite works with Slapshock for second album
DESPITE Manila for their first set of gigs for 2008.

The
band will have a two-day/four-venue starting tonight until Saturday in various
Manila bars.
The
group’s last performance was also in Manila last October before going into a
hiatus due to their busy study.
"Oy,
buhay na ang BBM!" the group said in their friendster.com message
which invites their fans to watch their weekend shows.
The
band will perform Friday at Freedom Bar (8:00 pm) and Dayo Bar (10:00 pm). On
Saturday, they will be at Makati Republic (7:00 pm) and RJ Bar (9:00 pm).

Suji Mansukhani told TIMES.
The
band which made an impact in Davao rock scene few years ago has been in hiatus
since Suji and bassist Dice Bernardino moved to Manila to take up medicine
courses. Vocalist Jehan Dumagay is in Davao, taking up nursing course.
Suji
said Jehan is in Manila for a break before the "super busy finals
week" in schools.
She
said the band is planning to have more gigs in Manila this summer.
"We’re Davao and sa uban Mindanao ,"

The
group is currently working on their second album.
Suji
revealed that Slapshock, one of the premier heavy metal bands, is helping them
in their upcoming album.
"They’re
nice enough to help us (in some) songs," said Suji, a daughter of a top
Davao-based pulmonologist.
She
said Slapshock guitar Lean Ansing is personally helping them in one particular
song.
"I’m
having drum lessons with (Slapshock drummer) Chi Evora," Suji said.
She
said Slapshock vocalist Jamir Garcia is giving them pointers on better
songwriting.
There
is also a plan to do a recording with Slapshock and its protégée band Virus
Artist, Suji said.
"Marami plano for the
po kaming
sobrang tumagal talaga."
She
said the undying support they got from their followers here in Davao and in
Manila keeps them going on.
"We’re
really happy that though nag-lie low talaga kami, people still
remember us both here in Manila and in Davao," she said. "Grabe
kaayo mi kaflattered and natouch lalo na sa support na
binigay ng mga Davaoeños.
