Award-winning filmmakers to grace Guerilla workshop
TWO noted film-makers will grace the Guerilla Filmmaking Workshop which is set to start this Friday.
Noted speakers “Teng” Mangansakan II, and Nick Deocampo will grace the first weekend of the workshop.
Teng, a Mindanaoan, is a published author and award-winning filmmaker. His debut film House Under the Crescent Moon won best documentary at the 15th Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong pelikula at video in 2001.
New York University graduate Nick, also a prize winning filmmaker, is the Director of Mowell fund film Institute, one of the best institutions that teach filmmaking in the country.
The Guerilla Filmmaking Workshop is a digital filmmaking crash course that aims to capacitate students, professionals, and film enthusiasts all over MIndanao in the field of filmmaking as an essential medium of cultural and artistic expression. It offers an intensive, hands-on experience which gives the participant first hand approach on the technicalities and basics of Filmmaking. The workshop contains specially designed modules on story development, screenwriting, cinematography, directing, producing, and digital non-linear editing.
Short films produced by the participants will automatically be entered to compete in the Guerrilla Filmmaking Competition.
The Guerrilla filmmaking digital filmmaking crash course is one of the highlights of the Mindanao Film Festival that kicks off December 2-12 at the Gaisano Mall, Davao City.
